New injection tested to tame painful arthritis flares

NCT ID NCT02541955

Summary

This study tested whether Acthar gel injections could help control sudden worsening of rheumatoid arthritis symptoms, known as flares. Forty adults with active flares received either a lower or higher dose of Acthar for four weeks. Researchers used joint ultrasounds and standard questionnaires to see if the treatment reduced inflammation and improved disease activity scores.
