Summary
This study tested whether a single, short therapy session (called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT) given around the time of back surgery could help prevent long-term pain and reduce the need for painkillers. 45 adults scheduled for back surgery took part. The goal was to see if the workshop was helpful and practical for patients.
