New inpatient therapy aims to stop suicide in veterans at highest risk

Summary
This study tests a short therapy program called ACT for Life for veterans hospitalized due to suicide risk. The goal is to reduce suicide attempts and improve daily functioning after discharge. About 278 veterans will take part, receiving either ACT for Life or a standard support therapy, and be followed for one year.
