Game on: new study uses play to help stroke survivors plan End-of-Life care
NCT ID NCT07235839
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether a travel-themed board game called 'LOHAS Journey' can help older adults (ages 65-100) who have had a mild to moderate stroke think about and express their preferences for life-sustaining treatments. The game uses blocks and cards to make advance care planning easier and less scary. Researchers will measure changes in treatment choices, depression, and hope right after the game and again four weeks later.
