New cream aims to keep acne away after strong medication

NCT ID NCT07341659

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a cosmetic cream (RV3278B-OS0386) to see if it can stop acne from returning after a full course of oral isotretinoin. About 102 adults with clear or almost clear skin after isotretinoin will use the cream or a control product twice daily for 12 months. The main goal is to measure how many people have an acne relapse during that time.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
cosmetic cream (RV3278B-OS0386)
What this could lead to
If it works, this cream could help keep acne away after a course of isotretinoin, reducing the chance of relapse.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage cosmetic study, not a drug trial. The cream may not prevent relapse better than a control product, and results may not apply to everyone.
