First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a 10% benzoyl peroxide acne cleanser on the skin before rotator cuff repair surgery can reduce harmful bacteria. About 150 adults scheduled for shoulder surgery will be randomly assigned to either use the acne wash or their usual soap. The goal is to see if the special cleanser lowers contamination during surgery, which could help prevent infections.
