First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a 10% benzoyl peroxide acne cleanser on the shoulder, neck, and chest the night before rotator cuff surgery can reduce harmful bacteria. About 150 adults scheduled for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair will be randomly assigned to either standard soap or the acne cleanser. Researchers will test skin and suture samples for bacteria to see if the special wash lowers contamination.
