Could a weak calf muscle be the hidden culprit in ACL injuries?

NCT ID NCT06235736

Summary

This study aims to understand if people with a torn ACL (a major knee ligament) have weakness in their soleus, a key calf muscle. Researchers will measure the strength of this muscle in about 55 participants with ACL tears and compare it to healthy individuals. The goal is to see if muscle weakness is linked to knee instability and patient-reported outcomes, which could inform future rehabilitation approaches.
