Decade-Long hunt for clues: what causes arthritis after ACL surgery?

NCT ID NCT00478894

Summary

This study followed 432 people for up to 10 years after they had surgery to repair a torn knee ligament (ACL). Researchers wanted to understand why some people develop painful knee arthritis years after this common surgery. They looked at factors from the original injury, the surgery itself, and patient characteristics to identify what increases this risk.
