PRP injection may speed up ACL recovery in new trial

NCT ID NCT07470359

First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) into the knee during ACL reconstruction surgery helps patients recover faster and with better function. About 60 active adults aged 18 to 50 with a torn ACL will receive either PRP or a placebo during surgery, then be followed for one year. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost addition can improve knee strength and movement, especially in settings with limited resources.
