New ACL surgery technique aims to boost healing with body's own tissues
NCT ID NCT07506304
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares standard ACL reconstruction surgery to a version that also uses the patient's own muscle and bone tissue to help the new ligament heal. About 70 people aged 18-50 with a torn ACL will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries. The goal is to see if the extra tissue leads to better graft healing and knee stability over 12 months.
