Blood antibodies may predict achalasia severity
NCT ID NCT07451301
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study examined whether specific antibodies in the blood (anti-enteric neuronal antibodies) are linked to the severity of achalasia, a rare swallowing disorder. Researchers tested blood samples from 195 adults with achalasia and compared antibody levels to disease severity and treatment outcomes. The goal was to see if these antibodies could serve as a biomarker for identifying patients with more severe disease or poorer response to treatment.
