NCT ID NCT04459117
First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving acetaminophen (a common pain reliever) to extremely premature babies in their first five days of life can help close a blood vessel in the heart that normally closes after birth. The trial included 804 babies born between 23 and 28 weeks of pregnancy. The goal was to see if the treatment improves survival without severe health problems like lung or brain damage.
