First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether doing early blood tests for heart strain and giving doctors a clear alert in the patient's chart can improve outcomes for adults admitted to the hospital with fast breathing (tachypnea). About 574 participants will be randomly assigned to either get this early testing and feedback or standard care. The goal is to see if this approach reduces the chance of being readmitted or dying after leaving the hospital.
