Light-Up device aims to end the 'Pincushion' problem for tough IVs
NCT ID NCT06861595
Summary
This study is testing whether a special light-up device called AccuVein helps nurses insert an IV line on the first try in patients who are known to have difficult veins. It will compare the device to the standard method of finding a vein by sight and touch. The goal is to see if the device reduces the number of painful needle sticks and saves time for patients who are obese, have dark skin, are elderly, or have other conditions that make veins hard to see or feel.
