Digital dental implants: can a computer plan match reality?
NCT ID NCT07315607
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests how accurately a fully digital workflow places dental implants and temporary crowns in one visit. Twenty-seven adults needing a single tooth replacement will receive a digitally planned implant and a prefabricated screw-retained crown. Researchers will compare the planned versus actual positions to see if the digital approach is precise enough for routine use.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Fully guided implant placement and immediate provisional crown procedure
What this could lead to
If successful, this could confirm that a fully digital workflow produces accurate, same-day dental implants and temporary crowns, reducing the need for adjustments.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 27 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The procedure requires high primary stability, which not everyone can achieve.
