First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study reviews medical records of 100 adults who used the AccelStim device after breaking a metatarsal bone in their foot. The device delivers low-intensity ultrasound for 20 minutes daily to promote healing. Researchers will check how well the bone healed and how much pain patients felt.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

AccelStim (low-intensity pulsed ultrasound device)

What this could lead to

If results are positive, this could support using the AccelStim device to help heal metatarsal fractures and reduce pain.

What could go wrong

This is a small, retrospective study (no control group), so it cannot prove the device works better than standard care. Results may not apply to all patients.
