Summary
This study is testing whether a weekly injection called abatacept can help control giant cell arteritis, a serious condition that causes inflamed blood vessels in the head. The trial will involve 78 adults with recently active disease, comparing the drug to a placebo injection for one year. The main goal is to see if abatacept helps patients achieve and maintain remission while reducing their need for steroid medications.
