First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested a new drug called AB-729 combined with standard antiviral therapy and short courses of pegylated interferon in 43 adults with chronic hepatitis B. The goal was to see if the combination is safe and can lower hepatitis B surface antigen levels enough that patients might be able to stop their daily antiviral pills. Participants had well-controlled virus levels at the start and were followed for side effects and changes in viral markers.
