New plug aims to stop dangerous leaks after aneurysm repair

NCT ID NCT04227054

Summary

This study is testing the safety and effectiveness of a new type of plug used during a common procedure to repair a bulging artery in the abdomen (an abdominal aortic aneurysm). The plug is designed to fill the space around a new stent graft to help it seal properly and prevent dangerous leaks. Researchers will follow 15 patients to see if the plug is safe and if it successfully prevents these leaks and helps the aneurysm shrink.
