Summary
This early-stage study tested a vaginal ring that releases two drugs (dapivirine and levonorgestrel) over 90 days in 40 healthy HIV-negative women. The goal was to measure how the body absorbs the drugs and check for safety and bleeding changes. It is a first step toward a product that could offer dual protection against HIV and unintended pregnancy.
