New PET probe aims to spot hidden cancer spread

NCT ID NCT07331532

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests a new imaging probe called 68Ga-PFA2 for PET scans to see if it can better detect cancer that has spread in people with lung cancer. The probe targets a protein called Annexin A2, which is often found in high levels on many cancer cells. Researchers will compare this new method to the standard PET scan to see if it is more accurate. About 10 adults with confirmed lung cancer will take part.
