New PET probe could spot hidden cancer spread

NCT ID NCT07331532

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests a new imaging probe called 68Ga-PFA2 for PET scans to see if it can better detect cancer that has spread (metastasis) in people with lung, breast, or pancreatic cancer. The probe targets a protein called annexin A2, which is often found in high levels on these cancer cells. About 10 participants will receive the probe and have a PET scan, and the results will be compared to standard FDG-PET scans to see if it improves detection.
