New scan may spot hidden kidney cancer in cysts before surgery
NCT ID NCT06949215
First seen Jun 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new type of PET/CT scan (68Ga-NYM096) to see if it can accurately detect clear cell kidney cancer in people with complex kidney cysts who are scheduled for surgery. About 70 adults with cysts classified as Bosniak II or higher will receive the scan before their operation. The results will be compared to the final diagnosis from the removed tissue to measure how well the scan works as a non-invasive tool.
