First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study follows 4200 mothers and their children for 5 years to see if inducing labor at 39 weeks (instead of waiting for natural labor) affects the child's brain development, behavior, and motor skills. All mothers are first-time moms with low-risk pregnancies. The goal is to help women and doctors make informed choices about when to induce labor.
