New ultrasound tech aims to see through bone and air

NCT ID NCT07406061

First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study will test a new ultrasound device that creates 4D moving images of the upper airway. Current ultrasound cannot see past bone or air-filled spaces, but this device aims to overcome that. About 100 healthy adults will lie still while the device scans their neck and jaw area. The goal is to measure airway size and improve imaging technology, not to treat any disease.
