New 3D scan aims to improve heart stent safety checks

NCT ID NCT06898021

Summary

This study is testing a new 3D imaging tool called 3DStent to see if it works as well as the current standard (ultrasound) for checking if a heart stent is properly expanded during a procedure. It will involve 200 patients who are already scheduled to have a stent placed with ultrasound guidance. The main goal is to see if the new 3D tool can accurately detect when a stent is not fully opened.
