3D-Printed mouth expanders: a game changer for Kids' smiles?

NCT ID NCT05743127

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at two types of expanders used to widen the upper jaw in children aged 8-13. One is made by hand in a lab, the other is 3D-printed. Researchers want to see if the 3D-printed version works just as well and feels more comfortable. About 42 children will be randomly assigned to one of the two expanders and followed for 6 months.
