3D-Printed splints offer new hope for burn patients struggling to eat and speak

NCT ID NCT06801535

Summary

This study is testing whether custom 3D-printed mouth splints can help burn patients who have developed a tight, small mouth opening (microstomia). The splints are designed to be worn at home to gently stretch the mouth, aiming to improve eating, speaking, and overall quality of life. Researchers will measure changes in mouth opening size and ask patients about their daily difficulties and satisfaction with the device.
