First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether custom 3D-printed external breast prostheses improve comfort, fit, and emotional well-being for breast cancer patients who had a mastectomy without reconstruction. About 50 adults who have had one or both breasts removed will receive a personalized prosthesis made from 3D scans of their chest. The goal is to see if this tailored approach leads to higher satisfaction than traditional prostheses.
