Dissolving splint could save kids with rare breathing disorder

Summary

This study tests a 3D-printed splint that holds open a collapsing airway in children with tracheobronchomalacia (TBM). The splint is made of material that the body absorbs over about 5 years. Researchers want to see if it helps children breathe better and survive longer. The trial includes 35 children who need help breathing or have a tracheostomy tube.
