Microwave zaps prostate tumors with 3D precision in new trial

NCT ID NCT04582656

First seen Apr 23, 2026

Summary

This study tested a new treatment that uses 3D mapping to guide microwaves and destroy only the main tumor in men with intermediate-risk prostate cancer. 76 men from Europe took part. The goal was to see if the cancer was gone one year later, without needing more aggressive treatments like full gland removal or radiation.
