3D tumor maps could sharpen radiation targeting in head and neck cancer

NCT ID NCT05743569

First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study explores whether creating a virtual 3D map of a patient's tumor can help doctors plan radiation therapy more accurately for head and neck cancer. About 13 adults who have had surgery for head and neck cancer will participate. Researchers will compare standard radiation plans with ones that include the 3D map to see if it reduces radiation to healthy organs. All patients will still receive the usual radiation treatment.
