Scientists test new 3D method to capture elusive cancer cells

NCT ID NCT05623748

Summary

This study tested a new laboratory technique to isolate and grow cancer cells found in a patient's blood, known as circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Researchers enrolled 160 people, including cancer patients and healthy participants, to see if a 3D cell culture method could better capture and multiply these cells. The goal is to create a better tool for researchers to study cancer and test potential drugs in the lab, which could help develop future personalized treatments.
