Summary
This small pilot study will test whether a natural supplement called 2-HOBA can reduce harmful oxidized fats and inflammation in people with high lipoprotein(a) levels, which increases heart disease risk. Ten adults with elevated Lp(a) will take the supplement three times daily for six weeks while researchers measure changes in their blood. The goal is to see if 2-HOBA improves the biology of Lp(a) and guides future research.
