New radiation therapy could slow advanced prostate cancer better than chemo

Summary

This study tests a new treatment called 177Lu-PSMA-617, which delivers radiation directly to prostate cancer cells, against standard chemotherapy (docetaxel) in 200 men with advanced prostate cancer that has spread and is no longer responding to hormone therapy. The goal is to see if the new therapy can slow cancer growth better than chemo. Participants must have PSMA-positive tumors detected on a special PET scan.
