Breathing in xenon gas could reveal hidden lung damage in PAH patients

NCT ID NCT06104228

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a special MRI scan using inhaled xenon gas can help doctors better diagnose and track pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a serious lung condition. Researchers will follow 20 adults with PAH for 12 months, using the xenon MRI along with standard tests like blood work and a 6-minute walk. The goal is to see if the MRI can detect changes in lung blood vessels over time and show how well treatment is working.
