New ablation recipe may keep heart rhythms steady longer

NCT ID NCT06706518

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested a systematic workflow called the '12 Commandments' for a type of heart ablation (pulsed-field ablation) in 118 people with atrial fibrillation. The goal was to see if this approach could better keep the heart's pulmonary veins isolated after treatment, reducing the chance of the irregular heartbeat coming back. Participants had a follow-up procedure to check if the veins stayed isolated, and researchers tracked any serious side effects within 30 days.
