New program aims to catch colon cancer early in appalachia

This study tested a program to increase colorectal cancer screening in 12 Appalachian counties. Over 5,400 adults aged 50-74 took part. Clinics and communities worked together to encourage screening, with the goal of catching cancer early and saving lives.
