  • Can a common supplement tame lupus? new trial tests NAC

    Disease control Ongoing

    This study tests whether N-acetylcysteine (NAC), a supplement, can help control lupus (SLE) symptoms and reduce the need for steroids. About 290 adults with lupus will take NAC or a placebo for 13 months. The goal is to see if NAC improves disease activity and is safe to use.
