Bone transport surgery could save limbs in diabetic patients

This study tests a surgery called transverse tibial bone transport for people with hard-to-heal diabetic foot ulcers. The goal is to see if it helps wounds close and prevents amputation better than standard care alone. About 100 adults with chronic ulcers will take part.
