10,000 patients join quest to unlock heart valve disease mysteries

NCT ID NCT07267117

First seen Dec 24, 2025

Summary

This study is following 10,000 adults with heart valve disease to see how the condition changes over time. Researchers will use scans, blood tests, and health records to find patterns that predict worsening disease. The goal is to better understand when treatments like surgery or medication are needed, and how lifestyle changes might help.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help doctors better predict how heart valve disease will progress and identify which treatments work best for different patients.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly test a new therapy. Results may take years and might not lead to immediate changes in care.
