New lung cancer radiation approach aims to shrink tumors faster with fewer side effects

Summary

This early-phase trial tests a personalized, accelerated radiation schedule (HART) combined with chemotherapy for people with locally advanced lung cancer. The goal is to see if this faster treatment can control the disease while reducing damage to the lungs and esophagus. About 45 adults with non-small cell or small cell lung cancer will take part.
