New study tests quick scan to spot swelling in cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07443618

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study explores whether a device that sends a tiny, safe electrical current through the body can better track fluid retention (edema) in cancer patients. Researchers will measure 46 people—breast cancer patients with arm swelling after radiation and others with leg swelling after chemotherapy. Participants will also give blood and urine samples and track their diet and weight. The goal is to find a more accurate, non-invasive way to monitor this common side effect.
