New cocktail of five drugs targets Hard-to-Treat bowel cancer

Summary

This early-phase trial is testing a combination of five chemotherapy drugs (FLIRT plus bevacizumab) as a first treatment for people with a specific type of metastatic colorectal cancer that has spread. The cancer must have a silenced MGMT gene and be microsatellite stable. The study first finds the safest dose, then checks if it helps control the cancer for at least 9 months. Only 27 people will take part.
