Metal vs plastic: which guide places cheekbone implants more accurately?
NCT ID NCT07551024
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether metal or plastic (resin) surgical guides help place zygomatic implants more accurately in people with severe upper jaw bone loss. Four adults will receive implants on both sides of their jaw—one side with a metal guide, the other with a plastic guide—and a CT scan after surgery will measure how close the implants are to the planned position. The goal is to find out which guide material leads to better precision.
