Could a simple zinc pill strengthen bones in sickle cell disease?
NCT ID NCT06260891
Summary
This study is testing two different daily doses of a zinc supplement to see which one is better at improving markers of bone health in people with sickle cell disease. It will involve 34 participants, aged 15-40, who will take the supplement for 12 weeks. The goal is to find the best dose to use in a larger, future study on whether zinc can help prevent bone problems common in this condition.
