New hope for kidney cancer: gut bacteria boosts drug power
NCT ID NCT07578025
First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new combination treatment for people with advanced kidney cancer that has spread and worsened after immunotherapy. The treatment pairs a drug called zanzalintinib, which blocks cancer cell growth, with a capsule (MO-03) that helps good gut bacteria thrive, potentially making the drug work better. About 34 adults whose cancer progressed after immunotherapy will take part. The goal is to see if this combo can shrink tumors or stop them from growing.
