First seen Nov 25, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested whether cleaning babies' teeth and gums with special xylitol wipes three times a day for four weeks could reduce cavity-causing bacteria. Twenty healthy children aged 9 to 18 months took part. Researchers measured bacteria and acid levels in saliva weekly to see if the wipes helped prevent early tooth decay.
