NCT ID NCT05215171

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at how breathing in dust from the World Trade Center collapse may cause heart and lung problems in FDNY rescue workers. Researchers will measure certain substances in the blood and breathing tests to find early signs of disease. About 100 retired or light-duty firefighters will take part. The goal is to better understand these health issues and find ways to detect them sooner.
